This is a common meal served to kids in Brazil. The maizena version of this mingau is especially good for kids that need to put on a little weight. | |
INGREDIENTS: | |
For each cup of milk: 1 tbs of corn starch 1 tbs granulated sugar 1 small pinch of salt 1 tbs of grated coconut (optional) | |
PREPARE: | |
Place the cold milk in a saucepan. Stir in the cornstarch, sugar, salt and coconut. Stir well until completely dissolved. ![]() Place the pan in medium-heat and boil gently for about 5 minutes or until mingau gets thick. While boiling, stir constantly with a wood spoon. ![]() | |
SERVE: | |
Serve hot in a bowl. | |
