INGREDIENTS: | |
For each cup of milk: 1 tbs of corn meal. 1 tbs granulated sugar 1/2 teaspoon of margarine 1 small piece of your favorite cheese diced into ¼-inch cubes. | |
PREPARE: | |
Place the cold milk in a saucepan. Stir in the cornmeal, sugar . Stir well until completely dissolved. Place the pan in medium-heat and boil gently for about 10 minutes or until mingau gets thick. While boiling, stir constantly with a wood spoon. Serve: place the hot mingau in a bowl, stir in the margarine and cheese cubes. The cheese will melt while you enjoy this snack. Mingau de fubá used to be very common for breakfast in place of bread. | |
SERVE: | |
Serve hot in a bowl. | |
